A timeline of each client household's life events, built from years of notes
Situation
Knowing a client household's history meant reading years of scattered notes and documents before a meeting. The events that matter most to planning, such as births, deaths, marriages, retirements, moves and inheritances, appeared only within those records.
Solution
The advisor assistant includes a screen for each household. AI read the notes and documents the firm already held and recorded each life event it found. The record stays current as new notes are added. For each household, the screen shows the following.
- A life events timeline with one lane for each household member.
- A family tree.
- A timeline of the household's financial transactions from the client money events tool.
- A list of every event with the exact sentence it came from.
Design decisions
Advisors need to trust what they see, so Jeff Hunt designed the screen to link every event to its source sentence. Any event can be checked in seconds. Advisors can correct or remove any event the AI found, and a correction stands from then on.
Birth and death dates already in the CRM take priority over anything the AI finds. The operations manager reviewed the family trees for accuracy.
Outcome
An advisor can review a household's life events, family relationships and financial history on one screen before a meeting. Every entry can be traced to the sentence or transaction it came from, so the advisor can confirm a detail before raising it with the client.
